As part of Bowling Green’s Sesquicentennial celebration in 1983, Joan Gordon (executive director of the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce), along with several BGSU photojournalism students, created a photo display of citizens of Bowling Green.  Photos continued to be added to the project until 1990.

In 2015, Jim and Joan Gordon left the collection of photos to the Wood County District Public Library.  WCDPL used one of their Facebook photo albums to recreate that display in a digital format and the result was a wonderful opportunity for viewers to reconnect to with people from Bowling Green’s civic life.  Comments on the album ranged from astonishment that the photos were available to spontaneous celebrations of people’s lives.  Click through the album here to see the powerful connections made to local history.
